About our Fishing Trips
" Sandy Hook Stripers "

Sandy Hook's unique
structure of mussel beds, deep channels, rip-tides, river currents and
rock structures make it the very best natural environment for Striped
Bass. Take advantage of the fantastic fishing in the Sandy Hook area
with Captain Gene. With large schools of bunker indigenous to this area,
the stripers can be had by a wide array of methods. Captain Gene enjoys
them all, and he knows what works the best during a particular season in
the hottest areas around the hook. Trolling stretch, bunker spoons and
umbrella rigs makes for fast exciting action, drifting eels in the fall
or "clam balling" all season will also produce results. Let Captain Gene
share his striper secrets with your 6 man charter.
" Get Ready for a Fight! "

Everyone who fishes in
New Jersey knows about the excitement of Blue fishing. Captain Gene will
get you in on the action, which at times is virtually "non-stop". Many
Captains might regard bluefish as the scourge of the striper fishery.
But not Captain Gene and the Phantom. Bluefish are fast, ferocious and
fight to the bitter end. What more could you ask for if you want a hard
fighting day on the water. No for the faint hearted at times, these fish
will work out your arms as if they were 10 times their actual size. Call
Captain Gene, get your friends together, and "Let's go Fishing"!
"
Strategy and Knowledge catch the Weakies "
Fishing for weakfish
sometimes is easier said than done, especially if the overall run is not
in full swing. That doesn't matter to Gene. He knows how these fish
behave, and knows what they feed on and how they move. Typically
wherever the blues are chopping up the bait, the weakfish school up on
the bottom to take advantage of the carnage on the surface. Quiet
tactics are used as Gene "sneaks up" on the school, and tosses the jig
or the bait that only the weakfish will take. Share an inventive and
resourceful day weak fishing on the Phantom, and learn a new trick or two
from Captain Gene. Worms, bucktails and artificials work the
best
" Fishing the "Deliberate
Drift"

Let's face it... anyone can take a boat
ride, find a fleet of boats and drift for fluke. But with Captain Gene
and the crew of the Phantom, there is nothing routine about it. Gene has
been fluke fishing his entire life in the Sandy Hook area. He knows the
nature of this fishery, and where the fish are most likely to be. Never
counting on the location of the masses, Gene uses his knowledge and
experience to find that "honey-pot" of nice fluke. Bring the family,
enjoy the day...of course, but bring home some delicious keeper fluke
courtesy of the Phantom!
Large Fluke don't only
take big baits, remember "Elephants eat Peanuts".
